Table of 36 weak psychic abilities

 I want to do something with secret organization criminal psychics in the nearest future and had to come up with/steal a bunch of very situational weak psychic abilities for it. Most of them don't require any rolling, because rolling is cringe. Psychic abilities are a part of you my guy. You can just, like, do them without rolling, yo. But also not do them too much, because we're playin elfgames and you can't be too strong. Yo. Balance.

Anyway, psychic abilities. Roll 2d6. Look for the first number on the left, for the other on the top, check the name of your power and ctrl+f it my guy.

Mr. Peanut - Upon activation the power make everyone who knows you within a 100 metres radius of you assume that you are dead. The effect ends when you are seen by someone.


Friendly Favor - You can project your will onto other people. They will try their best to fulfill your needs, unless it causes physical harm to them or their companions. The effect lasts either until they succeed or 10 minutes, whichever is shorter. You can only affect any given person once, because they get used to your power fairly quickly.


Hills and Valleys - Upon touching someone you can see their happiest and saddest memory in the form of a vision twisted by time.


Judgement Chain - You can set restrictions and rules for people. For it to work, you need to inform the person of the rules you're setting and they need to agree to follow them. They can still use loopholes in the restrictions given. The effect is permanent, unless you decide to make it end yourself. You can't have restrictions set for more than 2 people at any given time.


How It's Made - Upon touching an object you can learn it's history up to 1 week back.


Trailer Trash - Upon touching an object you can learn what it's future hour would look like if you or your companions were not to interfere.


Zone of Truth - After activation, you can detect if anything someone tells you is true or not for 10 minutes. Doesn't work over phones, internet or other appliances allowing for long range communication.


Presence - You have a superhuman awareness of the enviroment around you. At any point you can extend your senses for about 10 minutes and sense everything in a radius of 50 metres of you.


True or False - You can ask your power a simple "yes or no" question that any person within 20 metres of you knows an answer to and you receive a truthful answer.


I heard a rumor... - By looking someone in the eyes and activating this power you can learn a random rumor told about them. The rumors are all real in the sense that at least some people believe them, but you never know if they're true or not. You can use it multiple times on one person.


Hypothetical - You can create a simple "what if" scenario and your power will create a simulation of how the next 30 seconds would look like if the scenario were to happen.


Connections - Upon activating the power you can see lines between all nearby people for 1 minute. The colors and states of the lines represent how those people feel about each other. For example, a strong red line between two people may represent love. A damaged blue line on the other hand may represent disdain.


Basically Best Friends - Using this ability you can always correctly guess someone's birthday, favorite color, pet's name, favorite ice cream and mother's maiden name.


Split Screen - You can look through the eyes of another person for 5 minutes as long as you know their name, face and current location. The range from the target must be equal or less than 200 metres.


Mr. Sandman - You can make someone fall asleep, but you need to blind them for a second first. It can be done by flashing a light into their eyes, throwing sand into them or any other similiar method.


Monkey mode - Upon performing a short hypnosis on someone you can turn off their Superego for 10 minutes, making them act purely on instinct.


Business mode - Upon performing a short hypnosis on someone you can turn off their Id for 10 minutes, making them act purely on logic and prelearnt ideals.


Memory Slip - You can make up to 10 random nearby people who are not looking at you at the moment forget about you completely for 20 minutes.


Blindspot - Upon activating this ability, you will prevent all nearby people from turning their head and eyes in a way that would allow them to see you for 60 seconds.


Class Weirdo/Social Butterfly - You can make yourself or a target you can see more noticable or easier to ignore by other people for 20 minutes. Doesn't work over cameras, phones and other appliances of this kind.


Peacemaker - Upon activating this ability, you will put a mental barrier onto all nearby people stopping them from physically hurting you for 20 seconds.


Baby Mode - Upon touching someone you can revert their brain into that of a newborn child for 60 minutes. This should require some kind of saving roll from the target.


Blur - You can make yourself or a target you can see invisible on cameras for 20 minutes.


X-ray Vision - You can see through various materials, but your power is usually limited by one layer of said material (you can only see through one wall, layer of clothing and so on).


Common Way to Greet People in Chicago - Upon kissing someone on the mouth the target madly falls in love with you. The effect is permanent, but the target becomes more and more insane and possessive as the time goes on. You can end the effect whenever you want.


Sovereign - You can fully control one person, as long as you're standing to the left and within 10 metres of them.


All I Want For Christmas is You - You instantly know someone's favorite My Chemical Romance song when you look at them. The power works passively, so you don't have to turn it on, like the other ones. If you don't want an useless joke of a power, you can reroll this once.


Recordless - You can delete one memory of a person if you meet their eyes and know their name. You also can't browse their memories, so you can only delete things, you know they remember.


Identity Theft is not a joke - Upon activating this power, when talking over the phone or using any other long distance communication method, you can make anyone believe that you are someone else than you really are. Works for 60 minutes.


Face/Off - As long as you know someone's face, name and date of birth and are within 100 metres from them, you can make yourself appear to everyone around as that person. The effect ends when you want it to or when the person you're impersonating sees you.


The Man With No Name - Once you activate this power, other people won't be able to identify you. The effect ends, when you name yourself, even, if you use a fake name when doing so.


Rainy Day Dream Away - You can make a person you can see get stuck in the feeling they're experiencing at the moment of you activating your power. For example, if someone was happy, your power will keep them happy as long, as it's running. If someone was falling down the stairs, they will feel as if they're still falling as long, as your power is running.


Liar liar - Upon activating, you can make anyone believe a lie you are telling, no matter how obvious it is. People will start noticing holes in your lie after 30 minutes and stop believing in it after 60 minutes.


Overused Slow-Mo Effect - Upon activating this power you can mess up their perception of time and space for up to 1 minute. This allows you to make them misjudge distances, angles and passage of time.


The man who killed 3 people with a fucking pencil - Upon activating this power you become a master at performing any given task, but only when you use hilariously ineffective tools or stupid yet imaginative ways of performing said task. Works for 1 minute.


A Very Bad Trip - You can cause all chosen people within the radius of 20 metres from you to experience horrible hallucinations that last about 5 minutes. The hallucination ends, when one of the targets gets physically harmed in any way.

  1. Fantastic! Exactly what I needed, and I've been looking for something like this for a very long time! Is there an limit to "activation" or is it meant to be left as an exercise for the reader?

    1. Exercise for the reader. I'm not sure how I'm going to make it work when and if I use these powers in the future myself. The most basic idea would probably be to limit them by something akin to spell slots, except with a more psychic theme appropriate name, but I'm not a big fan of spell slots myself, so I'm still brainstorming.

Fair enough, I'll be adding nearly all of these to my hack, Finders Keepers In Space (https://slightadjustments.blogspot.com/2020/08/finders-keepers-in-space.html) and making a few slight adjustments. I don't have any per-day limitations in the system anywhere, so I have to come up with new ways to balance powers like these
